My America

America. What can I say?? For the moment I  can just say that I like to be here. Obviously it is totally different from my Italy. Here if you just think about going out for a walk people look at you as if  you were crazy. They just move by car, and they eat a lot of unhealthy food but there’s a lot of good things about American people, like their passion for sport and their pride for their country. Before a game everybody has to look at the national flag with the right hand on his heart and sing the national anthem. I just feel so weird when they do that..what I should do?? I’m Italian, should I do it or not?? People are so hospitable, and kids are so kind but to be honest it is not easy to make real friends, everyone likes you and you are like an idol but how can you know if they are real friends ?? They always wave at you and they always smile and stuff like that but how can you find a real good friend that can become like your best friend??
Here I’m just trying to make as many friends as I can, they are all so nice and I hope to become  closer and closer to them. Again if I have to be honest, I thought it would be  hard to live in another country with people that you don’t even know, without your Italian family and without your Italian friends..but it is not. For some strange reason everybody likes you, I don’t really understand why but it is like that. I think I’m so lucky to be here, my family is just perfect The only thing that really scares me is the winter, I know for sure that it will be so cold but I don’t really want to think about it because now the weather is pretty good, we can just go out wearing light clothes. The thing maybe the best one is that here  school is totally different from the Italian one, you do a sport, you go to homecome prom and stuff like that. Last week we had homecoming, everyone had to dress up, the first day in hawaian  clothes, the second day in  jersey the third day we had to find a twin the fourth day was the most important because we had to put on clothes in the school colors so everyone made a shirt and it was so funny. Then we had a parade and then we went to the homecoming football game, it was so crowded and a lot of students couldn’t find a seat but it was nice. The “ Vikings” won the game after five years!! So everybody was so happy and then we had homecoming dance. I wish we had homecoming too, we should do it, is just so much fun! So my first impression about this country, totally new for me, is with no doubt positive, I want to live this experience as better as I can, and for this period while I’m here I really want to live and to act as American teenagers do. For the moment I feel so relaxed and I know that this will be a problem when I’ll come back in Italy, it will be so hard to start the Italian school again, I’m pretty sure about it, but that’s ok. I Hope that my stay here will get better and better and I hope I’ll get used to doing what American people do. That sounds silly but whatever, that’s what I want.
